Meeting the Baby
We made a huge trip so my parents and brother could meet baby L, who was 10 months old already. He was growing up so quickly and I wanted to make the trip so they could meet him. My brother was out of town at the moment, so I ended up bringing over L and my other two kiddos so my parents could see them first.
It was a long drive to my parents and luckily the kids were pretty quiet. I think they were so tired from the plane ride and also playing outside the following day that they were exhausted. They ended up falling asleep almost of the way there and when we arrived, they were still asleep.
I ended up going inside first to get my Dad out of bed and to get him ready. My Mom was busy getting fruit ready for the kids since that’s what they love. When the kids finally woke up, they stormed in and ended up running around like crazy. L was really grumpy and in unfamiliar territory, so he didn’t want to be held by my parents unfortunately. We tried and he was crying and screaming. We weren’t there long and since it was late and almost time for dinner, everyone ended up leaving to go back home except for me (since I was staying to see and help my parents).
Even though it was only a short visit, I’m glad my parents got to meet L. Those little moments end up sticking around as memories and that’s really what life is made up of. I’ll now have memories of L crying and screaming at my parents to think back to - and I have the pictures to prove it.
