Broken Soap Dispenser
My kids love to get up on my side of the sink in the bathroom to wash their hands. We have glass soap dispensers in every room and honestly, I’m surprised that one hasn’t been broken by them for a long time. Even when they are rushing, I don’t know how they avoid pushing over the soap dispenser and breaking it…until a few weeks ago.
They ran into the bathroom and all I heard was a loud bang coming from the room. I knew that they had somehow tipped over the soap dispenser and the first thing I did was to get them out of there. Luckily they were not hurt and they already felt bad about it. It was an accident, so there was no need to a lecture or any anger. I’m just glad nothing more serious happened. I ended up cleaning all of the little glass pieces (and a few big sharp ones too) up and was regretting the act of filling up all of the soap dispensers in the house a few days before that. Eventually everything got cleaned up, even the globs of liquid soap.
My kids still felt bad about it and I told they it wasn’t their fault. They just needed to be a bit more careful and that it was an accident. Honestly, if I didn’t plug an extra electric toothbrush charger in a day ago to charge both of their electric toothbrushes, the soap dispenser might not even be broken because it wouldn’t have moved a few inches closer to them. It’s funny how small changes and deviations can cause unexpected things to happen and I’ll just make sure if something is in the path of the tornado (my kids!) to try not to change too many variables!
