Baby Games

My baby boy L has been getting into some silly baby games. He’s so playful now and is starting to learn really quick on how to interact with others. All he does is look at his surroundings for a while to observe and then he’ll know how to play. He loves his old siblings so much and always wants to be around them as well.

When L sees his older siblings play Lego Duplos, he always wants to crawl over there and start to pick up some of the pieces. To the dismay of his siblings he’s in there for better or worse. His favorite way to play is to destroy, and after the destruction is complete, he’ll decide to see, which of the blocks taste the best.

Another game L likes to play is copy the dance move. When there’s music on in the background and someone is dancing, he will watch the dance moves and try to wiggle around in the same way. I was waving my arms one afternoon while making lunch and he did the same. He started to dance with me while he was strapped in eating his lunch. It was really cute to watch.

My favorite game he plays is called put the object in your mouth. This game always brings out huge giggles. I hold something in my hand and try to poke him with it. Usually, I try to distract him and I poke his arms and his legs and his belly and sometimes his cheek. He’ll have a good time with it, but the real fun starts when he gets the object. He’ll start to try and put the object in your mouth and when you bite down on it, he won’t stop laughing really hard for a few seconds. He can play this game for a while because he thinks it’s the most hilarious thing when you take the object he is holding and put it in your mouth.

It’s my third go around with having a little baby around and this is probably my favorite phase of the first year. You really get to see their personality develop and I think I’m going to have a silly one on my hands in the future. For now though, I will just continue to enjoy our baby games.
