See You in the Morning

I usually read to our two older kids while she deals with our baby son. I definitely don’t mind it and I love reading to the kids, especially if we don’t have to rush through story time. At the crossroads in the evening, my wife usually tells them goodnight and that she loves them.

The other day, my wife was saying goodnight to the kids as usual. She said goodnight to our 5 year old daughter and that she will see her tomorrow morning. She turned to our 4 year old son and said goodnight to him and that she will see him tomorrow morning. He turned to her and said he would see her later that night and ran out of the room.

My wife was cracking up because our son usually sneaks into her room in the middle of the night. Every night. He also had the comedic timing down and delivered the punchline before zipping off like a cartoon character (meep meep, the roadrunner comes to mind!). I love my son’s humor because it is already so similar to mine. With enough practice, one day he might be as funny as me (because no way he can be funnier :p ).
