New Heart Sign
While my 4 year old son C is recovering from his foot fracture, I have been taking my 6 year old daughter E to her swim classes solo. They usually go together and have class at the same time, so I will squeeze in a quick workout before joining them in the pool for playtime afterwards. It’s still the same routine with E, but now we can have one on one playtime, which she enjoys very much.
E has been really into artistic swimming ever since she saw them in the Summer Olympics. It combines her love of dance with her love of swimming. During playtime after her swim class, she has been wanting me to participate in her shows and choreography. I oblige and throw her in the air, perform holds, and most importantly serve as a bar she can hold onto with her arms and legs. It’s both very cute and very tiring.
E started to get creative a few weeks ago and asked me to form a V with my hands. I did that and she ends up forming the top half of her goggles with her hands. Then she swims towards me and when our hands connected, we formed a heart with her face in the middle of it. It was so cute to see her come up with it and set me up. I was laughing and another swimmer saw what we were doing and started to form the heart with her hands. I’m sure they are going to use it somewhere down the line.
It was a small moment during our playtime in the pool, but it was awesome to think back on. I hope E continues to be playful and creative because that’s when she is fully herself. I also hope she enjoys her artistic swimming summer camp because it’ll be her first exposure to that world (and I hope she brings her heart routine along for the ride!).
