I’m on a Roll

My infant son is now very aware of his surroundings and people. It’s to a point where he wants to be held when he wants to be held (and he’ll let you know about it also!). I don’t mind it because in comparison to my other two kids at the same age, he is still relatively merciful and let you have breaks every now and then.

Today was a particularly tiring day and after work, I tried to have everyone in the playroom to hang out a bit. My wife passed out for a few minutes on the couch and I vaguely remember rolling my son onto his tummy before accidentally snoozing off next to him for a minute while my 4 year old son was playing next to us. When I next opened my eyes, I couldn’t quite remember whether my infant son was closer to me or not, but it seemed like he had rolled away and was now on his tummy a bit further than I remembered. I didn’t think he did this all by himself and maybe my memory was hazy since I was tired, but I know he is close to rolling over whenever he wants to.

I spent parts of the evening trying to get him to roll over. He would swing his leg over and stare at me, my wife, his siblings, cars, and a lantern. He rolled from his back to his side and would just need to pick his head up to be able to flip onto his tummy. He did 90% of the work, yet hasn’t quite figured it out. I think he eventually will roll over in the next few days and fingers crossed that I get to witness it instead of working or looking away for a few minutes!
