First Day of Kindergarten
In between bouts of tummy aches, my 5 year old daughter finally got to go to her first day of kindergarten. She was very nervous to go and also very excited at the same time. We helped pack her bag with water and a lunch. Then off we went to walk her to school as a whole family.
She waited in line to go into the school and when it was time to go in, we all gave her hugs and kisses. I watched her go into the school and finally disappear down a hallway until I couldn’t see her anymore. It was an emotional morning since that was our first child that’s going to kindergarten and I was just hoping that everything would go well for her.
The day seemed to pass by quickly and I ended up walking to pick her up with the baby while my wife was picking up our 4 year old son. I saw her waiting in line and was so excited to finally pick her up. She ran over to me and told me she had the best time! I asked her what she did and…she forgot! I’m sure she did art and read some books since those things usually make her happy. Sure enough that’s what she did after we got some pictures and an update from her teacher. Then as we were walking home, my wife and my 4 year old son met us with popsicles. We ate it on the walk back and I’m glad we could put the first day of kindergarten behind us (and that it went relatively well!).
