Dreaming and Talking
My 4 year old son C is in a stage where he is having a lot of vivid dreams. I’m noticing that his dreams tend to be scary sometimes or he is trying to overcome some strife. It’s usually not an issue since his older sister E is in a deeper sleep nowadays and tougher to wake up. It’s only an issue for me when I’m trying to fall asleep.
Earlier this week, C was having some dream about fighting because he was saying gooo gooo fighting. Not sure if he was pretending to be a baby and play fighting his little brother L or if he was actually fighting a swarm of babies. He was also screaming nooooo nooooo get off. It seemed both stressful and funny.
Other nights C will talk gibberish like he does to baby L in the mornings. He tries to be cute and spurts out funny sounds and made up words. I know he is entertaining L in those dreams and even though it wakes me up, it’s cute to listen to. It makes me happy that he dreams about playing with his little brother because he loves doing that right when he is allowed to go wake him up.
I could be getting better sleep, but for now, I’ll stick around to make sure I can calm C down from a nightmare by sleeping on the ground right beside him. I’ll also settle for listening to some funny conversations when he is talking in his dream. I know one day I’ll miss these nights so I am soaking it all up as much as possible.
