The Book Fair - The Purchasing Edition

The day of the book fair finally arrived for my 5 year old daughter. She was so excited for her first book fair at school and was ready to search through all the books to find a few that she liked. I gave her $20 dollars all in $1 bills this morning so she could easily count out what she needed. She was ready.

After school, I picked her up and she was so happy and excited to show me her books. It was actually only a single book and it was a phonics version of Spidey and His Amazing Friends. It had 5 stories and it cost $9 to purchase. She thought it was a good deal. She also didn’t quite know how much money she got back, but she wanted to go to the book fair again after dinner so she could spend the rest of her money there if she found something she liked.

We were planning on going, but things went south after she got home. She was overtired and had a few tantrums, so we decided to skip the book fair in the evening and tried to call it an early evening. She was a bit sad, but she quickly forgot about the book fair since we ended up playing with Play Doh in the evening. My kids also got way too excited reading the book for story time before bed, but they eventually settled down and passed out quickly. Overall, I’m glad my kids love books and I’m glad my daughter had a great time at her first book fair.
